What is The Departure Lounge Coaching program?

The Departure Lounge Coaching Program (TDLCP) is an incubator program for skilled professionals that are seeking employment opportunities outside the African continent. TDLCP is a guide to developing safe and legal migration strategies to viably penetrate the international job market;

Who can benefit from this program?

TDLCP specifically targets talent with education and experience that matches the critical skills sector in the first world. These include the fields of healthcare, education, and STEM.

 

Who are my coaches?

Sandra Munyoro - Career Transformation Coach

Coach Sandra Munyoro is a career development expert and the founder of SMCC (Sandra Munyoro Coaching & Consultancy). She brings with her, years of management and technology consulting experience in the corporate world. Previously, she has been responsible for leading onsite and remote teams across Europe and Asia and successfully bringing projects to life for global cooperations in the automotive, insurance, and banking industries. Now she combines her professional, academic, and personal experiences to coach professionals to be the best versions of

themselves and excel in their current roles or their job search.

Mary Razemba - Migration and Relocation Coach​

Relocation Coach is a relocation expert for Expats and Immigrants wishing to leave the African Continent. She excels at matching opportunities and environments to people and profiles with the goal of fast-tracking their growth and success in their new home countries. Previously she has worked with District councils and municipalities in her home country of Belgium to help fellow immigrants acclimate, integrate and find opportunities to rebuild their lives. Now she coaches and consultants on safe and legal migration with the goal of putting her clients in a position to thrive and excel quickly they land.

Am I eligible for the program?

To be eligible for this program you have to have at least a higher national diploma, or a bachelor's degree or higher relevant to the critical skills/ shortage skills sector.

Another requirement is that you be under 4o years of age (negotiable) and have a valid travel document.

Other than the above-mentioned requirements one needs to be motivated, self-driven and able to work well under minimal supervision.

What countries can TDLCP help me migrate to?

TDLCP is designed to deliver a learning experience that equips you with skills, tools, and a mindset that will serve you regardless of your chosen destination. That being said, we are in partnership with some recruitment bureaus hiring in specific fields (Healthcare, IT, Engineering and Biotechnology) in the USA, UK, Germany, The Netherlands and Australia.

How do I apply?

To participate in the program, candidates will be required to apply to the program. Applications will go through a thorough assessment and successful candidates will receive an invitation to register.

Registration is considered official upon receipt of the initial payment.

Registration is considered official upon receipt of the initial payment. You will receive a confirmation along with login details for the coaching platform.

 

What will I learn?

The modules covered include Clarity, Communication, Networking & Social Selling, Application Documents and Interview Skills.

  • Understand your migration profile

  • Strategically plan, and organise your migration steps

  • Create winning application documents that highlight your relevant skills so you can stand out from the crowd

How does it work?

TDLCP is delivered online via slack and Zoom meaning you can participate from anywhere in the world as long as you have a stable internet connection.

Throughout the program, there will be a combination of live and pre-recorded sessions with Coach Mary Razemba (Immigration Consultant) and Coach Sandra Munyoro (Career Coach). Regular participation is encouraged.

Additionally, you will be assigned tasks to complete between the coaching sessions in order to be able to continue working in the next session. Resources for self-learning will be made available.

 

 What is the financial investment?

The financial investment for participation in The Departure Lounge Coaching Program is set at US$600. This is a special offer for the 2022 cohorts, down from .

A maximum of two payments can be arranged, with the initial payment set at half the total investment. Registration is considered official upon receipt of the initial payment.

 

 How do I pay?

You will receive an invoice with payment instructions. We accept all major credit cards, direct deposits and PayPal transfers.

 

 What is the time investment?

TDLCP is a time-intensive program lasting 12 weeks. You are encouraged to dedicate a minimum of 15 hours a week to complete the assignments and master the skills taught to you in the live sessions.

At the end of the 12 weeks, you will be in a position to secure a job as a skilled professional in the first world and migrate to thrive.

Do I get one on one sessions with the coaches?

TDLCP is a coaching program designed to foster learning not only from your coaches but also from your peers in the group.

Should you require one-on-one coaching for any of the topics, please approach your coaches. One-on-one sessions are not included in the price.

 

 Am I guaranteed a job at the end of the program?

One of the fundamental values to thriving as an immigrant is self-reliance. TDLCP equips you with skills, tools, and a mindset that will enable you to migrate and viably penetrate the international job market. To improve your chances, we are in partnership with some recruitment bureaus hiring in specific fields (Healthcare, IT, Engineering and Biotechnology) in the USA, UK, Germany, The Netherlands and Australia. Suitable candidate profiles will be forwarded.
